Hello all. Sorry for the delay in blog posts, a lot has happened to me since we last spoke, but it is not all bad. This post will be split into 2 parts, but the main theme that will, and one of the reasons behind my hiatus, was gearing up for my eventual exit from my little home on Waiheke Island. Unfortunately, it was a sad time and the eventual ending to many things, but now it’s time to focus on the new beginnings and the travel that awaits me.

(Family catch-up in Auckland)
During this time, my parents came to visit me from Aussie, this being their first trip in ages, very exciting and a nice gesture that we were able to share this time after 6 months of being apart, right here in NZ. Filled with drama, chaos, and good family times, we went to the bay of Islands, visited Rainbow Falls, roam the streets of Auckland, and just hung out. It was Mum’s 60th as well, and after all this time to travel again, I’m glad this was a great birthday treat and one to remember for sure for. Once the family left, it was time to focus on the other matters surrounding my last days on this beautiful island.

One of them revolved around the car and the installation of these homemade curtains, which I had the privilege to build myself. It was so satisfying and fun, a first-time project that went relatively well. I would recommend anyone who’s on the road and looking to do something different to complete a task like this, very entertaining and rewarding. I was looking forward to this task very much among other car-related tasks. If you are interested and looking for some help in car curtain-making tasks, here is an article that I used to help me in the process, which helps me step through the process.

As the days rolled by, the planning process for all the activities closely ensued, along with the budgeting, the logistics and mapping of all the activities that was sure a fun and interesting process. What also ensued was the eventual ending of my employment at Man O’ War vineyards. A very sad time, with lots of memories and work colleagues I have shared this time with being left behind, it was, mostly, a very fun and rewarding experience, with friendships, bonds and great times being formed and shared, which I would like to say a big thank you to all of those lovely people I met and for Man O’ War to employ me for this time. Safe travels and best of luck for your future adventures.
